Dr Mohammed Binamin

Dr Mohammed Binamin is the principal dental surgeon at Widney Dental Care and a partner in the BST group of dental practices. In his role, he leads a team of Dental Professionals providing all aspects of NHS and Private Dentistry to patients in primary care.

In general practice, he takes a special interest in Restorative and Surgical Implant Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Intravenous Sedation and advanced Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry providing these services for his own and referral patients from local practitioners.

Dr Binamin has undergone extensive postgraduate training at some of the most renowned institutions in the United Kingdom. At the Eastman Dental Institute, he has gained the Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry, and Certificates in Surgical and Restorative Implant Dentistry. He has also gained a Certificate in Dental Implants at the University of Warwick and a Masters Degree in Dental Implantology at the University of Sheffield. He has recently completed the Diploma course in Conscious Sedation at the University of Newcastle.

He is committed to postgraduate education and training and is currently enrolled for the Certificate in Postgraduate Medical Education at the University of Dundee.

Dr Binamin is a Dental Foundation Trainer with the West Midlands Deanery and a mentor and coach to general dental practitioners’ and junior specialty doctors. He is registered with the West Midlands Mentoring / Coaching scheme and is also a registered a mentor with the Association of Dental Implantology and enjoys training and supporting his colleagues. He is a member of the Local Dental Committee in Solihull and sits on a managed clinical network panel for Oral Surgery in Birmingham & Solihull.

Dr Binamin also works in Secondary Care as a senior Specialty Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Solihull Hospital, providing minor Oral Surgery and Intravenous Sedation services to referring practitioners. He is a Dentist with Enhanced Skills (DES) in minor Oral Surgery and provides this service for Arden, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Primary Care team.

Dr Sarah Lynn

Dr Sarah Lynn qualified as a dentist in 2010 from Birmingham University but her dental career began as a dental nurse in 1996. She furthered her journey by qualifying as a Dental Hygienist/Therapist in Sheffield, then gaining a certificate in medical education to enable her to teach at Birmingham Dental Hospital.

Since then she has progressed to a fully-fledged dentist, working in at Widney Dental Care for the last nine years.

Dr Lynn’s passion has always been in restorative dentistry; she won a restorative prize at University and has continued to spend her spare time expanding her knowledge in this field, recently completing a mini smile makeover course in anterior composites. Although Dr Lynn thoroughly enjoys the practice side of dentistry, her real joy comes from getting to know her patients and families and keeping them smiling through their dental experience.

Outside work Dr Lynn spends every second she can with her gorgeous little boy who makes it all worth-while.

Dr Max Turner

Dr Turner graduated with distinction from The University of Bristol in July 2017. Since then he has been practicing as a general dental practitioner in the Solihull area. He began working with us at Widney Dental Care in September 2018.

He enjoys practicing a variety of dental treatments during his general practice and is keen to expand his knowledge and skill set. He has developed an interest in orthodontics and now offers this, including Invisalign treatments, with us. He tries to keep a friendly, open atmosphere in his surgery.

Away from work Max keeps himself busy. He enjoys keeping fit, always with a new fitness goal on the horizon. Max plays numerous sports socially, including golf when time allows. He also enjoys socialising with friends and family, which includes his newly adopted cat Marli.

Dr Damian Panchal

ASSOCIATE DENTIST

BDS (Birmingham) GDC: 278735 Damian graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2018 receiving multiple awards and distinctions in Prosthetic, Restorative, Conservative and Orthodontic dentistry. He is passionate for developing his knowledge and skills, ensuring his patients are provided with the highest standards of dental care.

Since graduating, Damian has developed a keen interest in all aspects of restorative dentistry, particularly in Endodontics. Damian has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and won several postgraduate prizes. He believes by involving his patients in the decision-making process he can gain their trust and positively improve his patient’s health.

Outside dentistry, Damian is a keen golf player and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Dr Sonal Patel

Trained at the Perfect Smile Academy to the highest level, Dr Patel has a major interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and Facial Aesthetics. Her resume is diverse and includes smile makeovers and root canal treatments, as well as wrinkle reducing treatments and dermal fillers. She has also completed further training in lip augmentation and is a trained skin professional for a leading cosmeceutical brand.

Her enthusiasm and caring nature lend well to total patient care and she is particularly skilled at treating anxious patients. She consistently invests in her professional development and this is reflected in her full membership of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry where she has played an active role as a committee member.

Dr Patel finds immense satisfaction in gaining the trust of and forming bonds with her patients, which, ultimately results in the best dental care in a relaxed environment.

Dr Hayley Freedman

BDS, MPharmacol (Hons) PhD MJDF GDC: 252053 Dr Freedman qualified in 2014 from Plymouth University and apart from a small hiatus has been working at Widney Dental Care since.

She enjoys carrying out a variety of dental treatments, but her main interests lie with minimal intervention, restorative dentistry and oral surgery. Alongside her time in practice, Dr Freedman also works at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire in the Maxillofacial Department.

In her downtime, Dr Freedman has many interests which include outdoor lifestyle cycling, running and travelling.

Dr Amelia Reed

Dr Amelia Reed enjoys providing cheerful quality dental care to the patients that attend the Widney Dental Practice. Patients seeing Amelia are able to take advantage of her skills and experience garnered since she qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 2010. Since then Amelia has completed further training roles at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in the maxillofacial team and also in Birmingham Community Dental Services resulting in an in-depth knowledge of anatomy, oral surgery and sedation.

Amelia’s post graduate studies have gained her further qualifications in facial aesthetics as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in both Restorative Dentistry and Implantology enabling a broad knowledge of dentistry and able to give muscle relaxants, facial fillers and implants. Amelia also has the Diploma of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons. Amelia also works as an associate dentist at Widney Dental Care and as a Specialty Dentist in Maxillofacial Surgery at Solihull Hospital

Outside of work Amelia has a son and enjoys modern jive dancing with her husband. Amelia is a keen walker, baker and pianist.

Abigail Attenborough

Abigail graduated from Birmingham School of Dental Hygiene in 2001 where she was awarded the Elective Prize for her study “The Emergence of a new variant CJD, and its potential impact in Dentistry”. Abigail’s career began in a private practice, alongside working for 4 years in the Periodontal Department at Birmingham Dental Hospital. In 2002 she joined the team at Widney Dental Care.

During her years at the practice, Abigail has gained great experience in the treatment and prevention of Gum Disease. Gum Disease has implications for some systemic diseases such as Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease. Abigail is keen to involve patients to take control of their oral health, therefore helping to maintain general well-being. In her free time, Abigail enjoys listening to podcasts, independent cinema and island hopping in Greece.

I am an enthusiastic Dental Hygienist/Therapist. I graduated from the University of Essex and embarked upon my first qualified job in 2013. I have been enjoying the profession ever since I started studying the degree and have utilised my skills to become certified in Facial Aesthetics and Tooth Whitening.

One day I hope to do my PGCE so that I can further my teaching role as over the last six years I have grown fond of learning from others and sharing my knowledge through being a lead speaker at various presentations.

Paula Corke

Paula qualified as a dental hygienist from Birmingham Dental School in 1985, spending the first part of her career working between the periodontal department of the dental school and the community services. This experience has given her the knowledge and skills to manage advanced periodontal disease dental patients and those medically compromised patients.

Since having her family, Paula has concentrated jer work in local private practice and has been working at Widney Dental Care for the past 20 years.

Sabrina Ahmed

DENTAL NURSE

Sabrina has been a qualified dental nurse since 2008 and joined Widney Dental Care in 2010. Whilst working at the practice she has gained extra qualifications in Treatment Co-Ordination, Radiography and Fluoride Application and extensive experience in Implant Nursing.

Sabrina is very busy outside of work with her children and also managing her own client base for aesthetic treatments such as micro-blading and fillers.

Alpa Chudasama

Alpa joined Widney Dental Care in 2013 following her dental nurse qualification in 2012. Prior to this she had completed a degree in India on Microbiology. During her time at the practice Alpa has completed additional training in impression taking and fluoride application.

When Alpa is not at work she enjoys spending time with her children, reading and travel.

Joanne Garton

Joanne qualified as a dental nurse in 2004 but decided upon a career change to police custody before returning to nursing at Widney Dental Care in 2018. Since starting with the practice, she has gained her fluoride application qualification and is keen to gain more.

Day to day Joanne is kept very busy and active by her two children.

Najma Hussain

Najma gained her dental nurse qualification in 2012 and joined the nursing team at Widney in 2013. Since qualifying Najma has gained extra qualifications in Oral Health Promotion and fluoride application.

In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, socialising and travelling.

Amelia Hill

Amelia joined the team in 2017 as a trainee dental nurse and earned her qualification in 2019. Now that she has gained her nursing qualification she is looking forward to the future and gaining further skills such as radiography.

In her personal time, Amelia enjoys eating, sleeping and walking her dog.

Hannah Jones

Hannah gained her dental nurse qualification in 2011 and joined the Widney team the same year. She has gained a qualification in fluoride application and is hoping to increase her knowledge base with further courses.

Aroosa Mirza

Aroosa’s nursing career began with Widney Dental Care in 2015 as a trainee dental nurse and she progressed to achieve her qualification in 2017. Within practice, she has gained her fluoride application qualification and gained significant experience in implant nursing.

In her own time, Aroosa enjoys shopping and swimming.

Nuzhat Mohammad

Nuzhat joined the nursing team in 2018 and gained her nursing qualification in 2016; previously she gained a Business Degree in Hong Kong. She has gained her fluoride application qualification and is eager to gain further qualifications in radiography.

In her spare time, Nuzhat enjoys swimming and visiting English History Museums.

Chontelle Roberts

HEAD DENTAL NURSE

Chontelle is our Head Dental nurse – this means she helps Norma in the management of the practice but is also a point of reference and guidance for all the dental nurses.

Chontelle qualified as a dental nurse in 2014 and joined the practice in 2015. Since then she has achieved extra qualifications/skills to aid the dentists in the practice which include Sedation (2015), Treatment Co-Ordination (2017) and Radiography (2018). As treatment co-ordinator Chontelle is the main contact point for patients who wish to discuss treatments.

Outside of work Chontelle enjoys socialising with friends and family and the occasional gym visit.

Shamar Shaw

Shamar qualified as a dental nurse in 2014 and started at Widney the same year. Since then she has gained extra qualifications in impression taking and fluoride application.

Lauren Swinnerton

Lauren gained her nursing qualification in 2016 and joined Widney Dental Care in 2019 after relocating from Wales. In her short time at the practice she has gained her fluoride application qualification and is looking forward to carrying out more nursing for surgical procedures such as implants.

Nicola Essex

RECEPTIONIST

Nicola joined Widney Dental Care as a practice receptionist in 2015 after working in an admin position within her family’s business. Nicola is very warm, kind and caring to patients and thoroughly enjoys the interactions she has with them on a daily basis.

Outside of work Nicola enjoys spending time with her family, swimming and a holiday or two.

Norma Griffin

PRACTICE MANAGER

Norma qualified as a dental nurse from Birmingham Dental Hospital in 1988 and enjoyed many years of nursing. In 1992 she gained her Oral Health Education qualification and in 2008 completed her Dental Practice Management Diploma in 2008.

In 2015 Norma joined Widney Dental Care as Practice Manager and has enjoyed working as part of the practice team and interacting with patients.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family; is an avid reader and has a great passion for cooking.

Cathy Large

RECEPTIONIST

Cathy joined Widney Dental Care as a practice receptionist in 2015 after being a dental nurse for 26 years; providing her with an excellent knowledge base to assist patients at reception.

Whilst at work Cathy enjoys getting to know patients whilst outside of work, she enjoys watching movies, camping and cooking when time allows.
